Originally born and raised in the Houston area, Dr. Ruiz first fell in love with West Texas as a student at Texas Tech. He enjoyed his time there so much He decided to stay in the area for medical school where he had the opportunity to take a Border Health elective in Presidio; the highlight of his medical education. He developed a passion for women’s health; equally enjoying Obstetrics and Gynecology. "Strong women have cared for me my entire life and I intend to spend my career caring for strong women. It is my honor to do so in the Big Bend region".
